Conservationists for a changing world.
DBR is a specialist conservation company, passionate about the important role our historic buildings have in shaping our future.
By taking a progressive approach, bringing together quality craftsmanship with exemplary management skills, we can have a meaningful impact on places and people.
The buildings we work on are treasured by their communities, so quality is our fundamental value: we’re only as good as our last project. We work on buildings from palaces to private houses, cathedrals to chapels, town halls to monuments. They may be multi-million-pound conservation schemes or more modest in size, but our contribution is always shaped by care and craftsmanship.
Courtyard works included: Terracotta and brickwork repairs, detailing for terracotta replacements and pointing in various areas. Pinning of Terracotta to retain and repair damaged units using Cintec Anchors. Chemical cleaning to the terracotta in two zones of the façade alongside a steam clean. Life safety activities such as pinning of elements that could be prone to loss of material and the repairs to the roof tiles where needed were also undertaken. Tesserae mosaic, glass mosaic and Majolica panel conservation and regilding have all been completed by DBR Conservation.
DBR’s greatest asset is its people. With a diverse in-house team of specialist craftspeople, technicians and managers, we see buildings of all ages through micro and macro lenses. We are as fluent in technology as we are in heritage, using innovative techniques to give time-honoured craft and construction skills new relevance.
Conservation isn’t just a job. From the beginning, our company was founded on exemplary advice and quality craftsmanship, and those principles remain our DNA. We love what we do and know that conservation has never been more important. As the climate emergency has accelerated, so has the need to reinvent rather than replace existing buildings. Our specialist expertise will be instrumental in achieving this shift: it’s what we’ve always done.
