The recognition celebrates the collaborative effort behind the restoration of one of Bexhill's most recognisable seafront landmarks, highlighting the importance of conserving heritage assets that continue to serve and enrich local communities.
The project brought together a dedicated team of specialists, with Rother District Council as client alongside Cove Consulting, Avison Young, Infallible Systems Ltd, Asletts Decorating, and DBR. Through close collaboration and a shared commitment to conservation, the project has successfully restored the historic colonnade, ensuring it can be enjoyed by residents and visitors for many years to come.
Representing DBR at the awards ceremony were Executive Director and Chairman Adrian Attwood, Contracts Manager Jack Herniman, and Site Supervisor Jeremy Attwood, who were proud to celebrate this achievement on behalf of the wider project team.
Receiving a Highly Commended recognition is a testament to the quality of craftsmanship, technical expertise, and collaborative approach demonstrated throughout the project. As specialists in the conservation of historic buildings and structures, we are proud to have contributed to safeguarding an important part of Sussex's architectural heritage while supporting its continued use as a valued community asset.
We would like to thank everyone involved in making the project such a success and congratulate all of this year's Sussex Heritage Awards winners and finalists.
