Kim Reczek is a specialist in the conservation and restoration of historic decorative surfaces and has worked with DBR for over 13 years. Her work spans both interiors and exteriors of historic buildings and objects, as well as the execution of complex decorative schemes. Kim’s expertise includes stone and wood conservation, oil and water gilding, mosaics, polychromy, plasterwork, and sgraffito. Alongside her practical conservation work, she brings significant experience in project and budget management, fundraising, public outreach, and publication design, having previously worked internationally with organisations including the United Nations and Médecins Sans Frontières.
Kim has contributed to major heritage projects including Westminster Hall, the Sovereign’s Robing Room within the Palace of Westminster, the Old Royal Naval College, and conservation works at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Trained at the City & Guilds of London Art School, her academic research focused on laser cleaning, consolidation of polychrome wood, and replacement sculpture, underpinning her meticulous and technically advanced approach to conservation.
