James joined DBR in 2015 as an Assistant Project Manager, working closely with Projects Director David Lucas, where he gained wide-ranging experience across all aspects of construction management. His capability and commitment led to his promotion to Project Supervisor in 2017, and he has since become a key and trusted member of DBR’s management team, building strong and lasting client relationships.
James began his career in construction at the age of 16 within a family-run business specialising in brickwork and roofing, before completing a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying through the CIOB. He has a strong personal interest in historic buildings, reflected in the quality of the restoration projects he delivers. James has managed works at some of London’s most prestigious sites, including Buckingham Palace, and previously oversaw DBR’s works for the Royal Household, contributing to the award of the Royal Warrant. More recently, he has been leading the high-profile restoration of the Crystal Palace Subway, bringing particular strength in defects surveys, programming, quantity surveying, and client liaison.
