Brendan is a Contracts Director at DBR with over three decades of experience working on historic and complex buildings. A Fine Art graduate and trained architectural carver, letter cutter, and banker mason, he worked as a site-based craft mason from 1992 to 2001 on a wide range of heritage projects. He joined DBR in 2001 as a Contracts Supervisor, progressing to Contracts Manager and now overseeing one of the company’s three contracts teams, reporting directly to the Board.
Brendan brings deep technical expertise in conservation and repair, including stone, brickwork, terracotta, faience, and traditional stucco, as well as complex new-build interventions to listed structures. He is highly proactive in problem-solving, defect surveying, and agreeing repair strategies, and is responsible for overall project delivery, from health and safety and programming through to design coordination, specialist manufacture, and financial forecasting. Brendan also leads DBR’s Year of the Master Craftsperson initiative, supporting the development of vital heritage skills.
