Andy Thompson

Site Manager
Andy Thompson 1

Andy began his career with Bovis Construction as a Junior Assistant Foreman, gaining early experience in site coordination, setting out, record keeping, and material control. In 1990, he moved to Stonewest Cox as a Site Supervisor, specialising in the restoration of listed buildings and overseeing all aspects of site operations, including direct and subcontract labour, stonework quality control, and liaison between clients, architects, and site teams. He later joined Crispin & Borst, delivering MTC contracts for organisations including The Royal Parks and the Royal Courts of Justice. Andy joined DBR in 2020 and has since led major works including the multi-million-pound roof upgrade and conservation project at Swaylands in Kent.

A highly experienced and capable manager, Andy is skilled in project planning, team leadership, and effective communication across complex heritage environments. His recent work at Swaylands involved the removal and replacement of asphalt and lead roofing, inspection and repair of slate roofs, façades and windows, as well as structural steel installations and specialist joinery repairs. Andy has also contributed to projects at Lloyd's of London, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Crystal Palace Subway, and the Natural History Museum, bringing decades of practical expertise to DBR’s most demanding conservation schemes.
