Re-Leading the Roofs with Traditional Materials

A full re-leading followed, using code 8 sand‑cast lead across the cupola, bell lantern, and turret roofs. Drainage outlets and hoods to the four roundels were also renewed, combining traditional materials with modern performance to ensure long‑term protection.

Recreating Craftsmanship, Piece by Piece

Where damage had taken its toll, sections were carefully dismantled and rebuilt by hand. This process allowed the team to replicate the original craftsmanship with precision, strengthening both the aesthetic and structural integrity of the building. The chimney stack was rebuilt, and all metal windows underwent a full overhaul, including re‑glazing. New timber windows were fitted within a turret, designed to mirror the existing fenestration while subtly improving thermal efficiency without altering the building’s historic appearance.

A Return to Grandeur
