Project Complete: The Japanese Gateway at Kew Gardens

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of DBR Conservation’s project at the Chokushi-Mon – the Japanese Gateway, or “Gate of the Imperial Messenger” – at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
This intricate conservation project involved the careful cleaning, repair, and preservation of the Gateway’s exquisite carvings, decorative surfaces, and repoussé metalwork. The traditional copper roof and finely detailed timber elements were also meticulously conserved to ensure their longevity and continued beauty.
