Restoration of Crystal Palace Subway

DBR is very excited to have been awarded the restoration of the historic Crystal Palace Subway by the London Borough of Bromley. This decision was made in unison with Historic England and the Friends of Crystal Palace Subway. Around £3.2m have been estimated for the restoration of the Grade II* listed site. This project includes rebuilding existing walls and the construction of a new roof over the courtyard. In addition, the project with see the repair of the Victorian subway station area, including repairing and rebuilding existing walls, construction of new parapet walls and a new roof structure. All encompassing, this project will revitalise the historic space and bring new life and relationship between historic property and the public.

Adrian Attwood, Executive Director said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded the contract for this important project and are now eager to commence on site. As conservation specialists with over 30 years’ experience, we will be undertaking this conservation with the utmost care, so this impressive structure is fit for the 21st Century.”
