Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

DBR limited is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030. This is consistent with the UK Government’s commitment under the Climate Change Act and goal of 2050 and will play a significant role in the decarbonisation of the United Kingdom as a whole.

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets and Carbon reduction projects

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets and initiatives.  

  • Continued Internal Net Zero Group meetings 
  • Measured our first year of emissions to form a baseline 
  • Reviewed Energy, waste, environmental and sustainability policies (annually reviewed) 
  • Introduced a Car idle reduction scheme for our fleet 
  • Banned single use plastic bags for materials, using reusable only  
  • Continued use of electrical vehicles on site at the Palace of Westminster 
  • Donations of left-over crafts to colleges to avoid waste 
  • Established a PPE recycling initiative 
  • Promote carbon reduction internally and online 
  • Put carbon reduction at the forefront of our decision making 
  • Aligned with the principles of and Achieved the ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems standard. 

 

Our Timeline: A 7-year plan to net zero by 2030. 

2023 Year 1: DBR Net Zero team up with Planet Mark to assess and gather baseline emissions. adopted DBR net Zero group initiatives above.  Baseline emissions received for (2022-2023).
2024 Year 2:   Submitted data for review by PM. Data received for year 2 of measuring (2023-2024). Recertified as Planet Mark members due to achieving 7.6% absolute reduction and a 28% reduction per employee compared to the previous year, in line with Planet Mark and our internal objectives.
2025 Year 3: (2024-2025) We are now, in June 2025, embarking on measuring our next batch of data to form certification for year 3.
Years 4 and beyond (2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030):
– DBR Net Zero meet every 6 weeks to review company policy, objectives and initiatives and track data.
– DBR Net Zero are utilising the year 2 certification report to create new initiatives to lessen emissions in areas highlighted in our certification, for example our fleet.
-DBR will update this Carbon Reduction Plan yearly, to continue to work towards and track emissions to reach net zero by 2030

Beyond 2030: 

  • Upkeep our monitoring to ensure we are compliant with net zero and assess new ways to reduce emissions and keep innovating  
  • Review and assess our initiatives annually and as required to ensure they reflect us as a business  
  • Keep up to date with legislation and standards and audit our ISO14001 annually. 

 

Declaration and Sign Off 

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans. 

Emissions have been reported and recorded by Planet Mark.  

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors
