DBR Conservation

DBR Conservation provides teams of highly talented individuals who specialise in the conservation and restoration of historic decorative surfaces.

The scope of our work includes both the interiors and exteriors of historic buildings and objects, as well as the execution of new decorative schemes. Our expertise includes treatment of stone, wood, oil and water gilding, mosaics, polychromy, as well as plasterwork and sgraffito. We also provide paint and mortar analysis services.

We have a wealth of craft based skills including gilding, carving, modelling, mould taking, lettering, stencilling and decorative painting. With this experience we can provide ideas for original commissions, and welcome the opportunity to use traditional techniques for new work.

All conservation carried out by DBR is thoroughly documented and we provide high quality photographs and reports recording all treatments and materials used. Additional archival research can be included in this documentation.

DBR Conservation has recently completed conservation projects at Westminster Hall, The Sovereign’s Robing Room in the House of Lords, The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, The Royal Artillery War Memorial, Buckingham Palace, Wellington Statue, St Thomas’ Hospital Chapel, Victoria & Albert Museum, Westminster Abbey and St. Mary Abbots Church, Kensington.
